Q) Is this your first venture into an online business of your own? I started with several online MLMs and a few offline ventures that went belly-up. I got burned and wasted money and my time. But my hopes and dreams of becoming successful with my own home based business kept me going. Q) What were your initial goals when you joined SFI? My goal in the beginning was to work it as hard as I could and give this business 110% of my efforts—no matter what any of my friends, family, or co-workers said. I was determined to be successful and learn how I could earn $100,000 a year. I set a five-year goal to make $100,000 a year. I'm on my fourth year now, and made a combined home-business/full-time-job income of $64,000 last year. Considering the fact that three years ago, I was earning $29,000, SFI has provided a BIG, BIG income improvement for me! I can take a week off from work now if I want to and not stress about the bills. Now, I'm re-setting my long-term goal to be making $100,000 a year from my SFI online business only. Q) What SFI product(s) have you most concentrated on selling? The Veriuni All-Purpose Cleaner and the Veriuni Hair & Body Shampoo are my two favorites. The All-Purpose Cleaner is so highly concentrated, it can be diluted from a one-quart bottle to make 32 gallons of cleaning product. That's a big selling point, especially when you compare prices with other cleaning products and LEARN how much MONEY you can save your customers. I have used this cleaning product on hundreds of different types of cleaning jobs, and nothing has come close to its cleaning power. I use it, live it, and enjoy selling it, so it's my No. 1 money maker in the SFI home based business. The Hair & Body Shampoo is a very good product that sells itself. This product truly has great value and selling power, and customers love the built-in conditioners. Q) Without giving away your secrets, what two online business marketing strategies do you feel are most effective for home based business? I have found that having your own domain name is a good way to get started in your advertising efforts. For example, I use my URL address (www.VeryGoodProducts. com) on business cards and flyers to promote the VERIUNI Store. I also use another URL (www.getvstore.com) to promote the SFI home business opportunity.
My most effective marketing strategy has been building my own Website. When I started with SFI, there was no Veriuni Store gateway page for affiliates. So, I put together my own store page exclusively geared toward home based business. Q) What is the single most important step to making a sale that you would share with a new SFI affiliate? Don't be pushy, but be clear about what you are selling. Know the products and services so you can answer questions correctly and promptly. Q) What technologies do you consider most vital for your SFI home based business? Some people like using autoresponders to save time, but I don't. I feel a personal follow-up is important to building your T-Net team. I do use submitting software to submit my ads to about 250,000 classified sites and search engines once a month. I also submit 700 ads a day, mostly free classifieds, and put a third of my budget toward PPC advertising. I never go over my set budget, period. This is my number one rule for home based business. Q) List the following traits in order of importance to your business: enthusiasm, persistence, knowledge, and communication skills. Having knowledge of your products and business is the KEY to SUCCESS. It's the basis for your communication skills and helps give you the enthusiasm to be persistent in all your online business and personal decisions. Q) How important is following up with new affiliates to your success? It's very important. SFI has so much information available, and affiliates have to learn and understand how this system is going to work for them to succeed in SFI. I send a very simple e-mail to all my sponsored and non-sponsored affiliates when they join SFI. I include answers to common questions from new affiliates, while keeping the message clear and as simple as I can. I also submit posts at the SFI Dboard to help others—we are all on the same TEAM, and working together is what TEAMWORK is all about. Q) How do you handle rejections? At first, I did not handle them very well. I was learning and putting in a lot of time trying to get sales and new affiliates, and when the rejections started hitting me, it was very disappointing. That is, until I learned that most people are lazy and not willing to help themselves be successful in business or life. So, now I just take rejection with a grain of salt and keep looking and moving forward with my goals to build a home internet business that makes over 100k a year. Q) What has been your biggest motivation for making your SFI business a success? My family. Having five kids has helped spur my motivation for becoming financially independent. Q) What has been your biggest obstacle in building your SFI business? I could write a book about this. Mostly, my biggest obstacle was learning HOW SFI was going to work for me. Also, learning how to advertise effectively took a lot of trial and error. Q) How does it feel to join the top movers and shakers in SFI? It feels wonderful to be the "2005 Top Seller" and it has given me even more motivation as I sit here at my computer, looking over at that TROPHY! Q) Where do you want your SFI business to be a year from now? I would like to reach my five-year goal to earn $100,000 a year with SFI and my full-time job.
